Easy romantic meals explained
Easy romantic meals that even I can cook
So it’s all very well wanting to prepare easy romantic meals for your partner as a treat, but what if, like me, your culinary skills just about extend to a bacon sandwich, and easy romantic meals recipes don’t seem to exist? It’s true that lots of the recipes you will see for romantic meals tend to equate effort to cook in a flamboyant way with romance, but I have tracked down a few good easy ones to get you started, and have then provided a few links to other sites with gazillions of other options for you.
Easy Romantic Meals (1) – Appetizer-City
Let’s immediately get away from this notion that you have to prepare some 4-course extravaganza – you’ll spend more time out of your seat messing about in the kitchen, and less time chatting with your partner. How about preparing 4-5 appetizers for you both to share, and that way everything’s served at the same time, and there’s no risk of the meal being ruined if you screw up the main course! Here are some options for appetizers:
1. Veggie plate with dip (ranch, 1000 island, etc)
2. Chicken skewers
3. Grilled nachos (as spicy as you want!)
4. Olives
5. Pâté with crispy bread
6. Cheese & crackers
Lots more ideas on this site too.
Easy Romantic Meals (2) – Ginormous Salad
Again, we are steering clear from the big 4-courser, and sticking with something that’s easy to prepare and difficult to ruin
Salads don’t have to be boring or not filling – sure something with just lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber is both dull and will have you starving again 10 minutes later, but by jazzing salads up with other ingredients, you can make a ginormous, filling one that you can serve centrally and both then dig in! Any cooking involved will normally be restricted to maybe boiling an egg or grilling some meat/fish. Some ideas on this front:
1. Greek Salad with Olive Tapenade & Feta Dressing
2. Margarita Chicken Salad
3. Zesty Ham Salad
4. BLT Chicken Salad
And lots more ideas and recipes here.
Easy Romantic Meals (3) – Picnic Basket
Picnics are great if find the right location. But you don’t even need to leave your house for a picnic – clear away some furniture and spread a blanket on the floor in the cosiest room in your house and just sit your asses down! Whether indoors or outdoors though, picnic food is great because it’s simple and light. For example:
1. Macaroni Salami Salad
2. Chicken Salad with Couscous
3. Real Guacamole with Veggie sticks
4. Lemon Drizzle muffins for dessert
And more great romantic picnic recipe ideas here.
So are we feeling more confident now?
Hopefully those have given you some insight into what can be done with little or no cooking expertise. Of course it’s not all about the cooking when it comes to cooking an easy romantic meal – you both need to be relaxed too in order to enjoy these easy romantic meals and chatting, instead of wolfing it down and then seeing what’s on TV, but that’s a post for another day!
